Keep a separate playbook for each team — school ball, out-of-school, 7on7. Tap a name to rename it, or Open to switch.

How to use Chalk

Select

Move & read. Drag players to line up your formation. Tap a player to open its notes for this play.

Route

Solid line. Draw a receiver's route. Start on a player and the route belongs to them.

Motion

Dashed line. Draw pre-snap motion. Change the color to tell different motions apart (jet, orbit, shift).

Block

Line with a bar. Draw blocking assignments.

Player

Add. Tap the field to drop a new player, then name the position.

Erase

Remove a line. Tap any line to delete it. Remove players from their notes panel.

DEF bar

Coverage. Drop a defense behind the play. Turn on Zones to shade the holes to sit in.

Run

Watch it live. Plays out the motion, then the snap, then the routes. Hit Replay to loop it.

Stacks

Release order. When receivers line up on top of each other, open a player's notes and set who releases 1st, 2nd, 3rd — a number shows on the token and the sim runs them in order.

Terms

Your dictionary. Open Plays and tap the Terms tab to save what your special playbook words mean.

Formations

Templates. In the Formations tab, tap one to start a new play already lined up — or line players up yourself and hit Save current setup to make your own.

Playbooks

One per team. Tap the playbook name at the top of the Plays panel to switch between separate playbooks — school ball, out-of-school, 7on7 — each with its own plays, terms and formations.

Everything saves as you go. Open Plays (top left) to switch plays, start a new one, or open Terms.

Notes for this play — reads, coaching points, when to call it.

Sync setup

You're in Claude right now, so your playbook already syncs privately across every device signed in to your account — nothing to set up here. This setup is for when you host Chalk as your own website.

Sync your own Chalk site across devices with a free Firebase project. Do this once per device using the same details.

Go to console.firebase.google.com → Add project (free).
Build → Firestore Database → Create database → Start in test mode.
Project settings (gear) → scroll to Your apps → Web </> → register → copy the firebaseConfig.
